We have been arranging car hire in Fuerteventura for many years and we know the pitfalls, including cars being delivered in a dirty condition and cars that have passed their sell by date.
Many car hire companies do not have an office at the airport and sometimes their representatives are difficult to find or even forget to turn up at all! A similar situation can occur when hirers need to return the keys at the end of the holiday. It is particularly stressful if you cannot find the car hire company representative when you have a plane to catch particularly if you are running late! It is for this reason that, for a number of years now, we have only used companies with offices at the airport.
Our main car hire company in Fuerteventura is CICAR (Canary Islands Car). They offer an excellent service and often provide our clients with an upgraded car without additional charge. They do not ask for security deposits to cover insurance excesses and clients are allowed one free additional driver, if required.
Prices include: third party insurance, cover for damage to the vehicle and its occupants, bail bond and legal defence in Spain, unlimited mileage and one free additional driver.

Prices include: unlimited mileage, third party fire and theft insurance, Collision Damage Waiver, Personal Accident Insurance, free delivery and collection (during business hours), all local taxes and one free additional driver.
Prices exclude: petrol, parking fines, traffic fines.
More than two drivers, roof racks, baby and child seats:
on request (a charge may be payable locally). Please note that we are unable to accept responsibility where our suppliers' fail to supply roof racks, baby seats or child seats which have been ordered by us on your behalf.
Please note:
- The cars shown are examples of cars within each group and
our suppliers reserve the right to provide an alternative in
the same group.
- All drivers must be at least 21 years of age. A valid driving licence (which has been held for at least a year) must be produced before taking delivery of the car.
- Where the car is delivered with more than just sufficient petrol to get you to the nearest filling station, you may be asked to make a payment representing the cost of the petrol in the tank.
- We can arrange to have cars delivered to the hirer's accommodation, although we recommend that this is avoided wherever possible. Car hire companies in Fuerteventura are mainly organised for either airport delivery or office collection. Delivery to accommodation can, therefore, be unreliable and while cars are invariably delivered eventually, it may take several reminders and a lot of waiting around before this happens.
- Insurance cover will be invalidated if cars are used to carry more than the permitted number of passengers or are driven 'off-road'.
- Sunseeker Holidays Limited act as agents in the provision of cars and hirers will be required to sign a contract with the company supplying the car. Hirers will then be subject to the terms and conditions of that contract and the laws of the country in which the rental is provided.
