The most important factor in deciding where to stay is likely to be whether you like your resorts busier or quieter. Corralejo is the islands main resort with a large selection of shops, bars and restaurants and because you can walk to most places in Corralejo, you wont have to worry about drinking and driving. In our experience, families with older children often choose Corralejo because it has more to appeal to teenagers than our other resorts (although it is certainly not disco city!).
Small and rustic, El Cotillo offers a complete contrast to a busy resort like Corralejo. Its essential charm is that it has retained its sleepy, village atmosphere and although tourist facilities are now being developed, they remain low-key and unobtrusive. Accommodation is limited in El Cotillo and tends to be of a more basic standard than in Corralejo. The beaches are delightful, offering peace and tranquillity in a back-to-nature setting.
Parque Holandes is also quieter, with limited amenities, although the sand dune beaches and the main resort of Corralejo are within easy driving distance.
La Casita Rincon at Lajares remains a firm favourite with those who enjoy the countryside setting of this delightful, rural community and we now offer impressive countryside villas in the villages of Villaverde and La Oliva.
Caleta de Fuste is a modern, purpose-built resort with shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. The gently shelving beach and shallow waters of the bay make this a popular choice with families. The recently completed, 18-hole golf course is the first on the island. Another is in course of construction next to it, so Caleta will shortly boast two golf courses!
2. Choose your Accommodation
Time taken in choosing the right accommodation is time well spent. Ensure that it is suitable having regard to the size of your party and that it has the amenities which you require. If you need additional information, please telephone us, we will usually be able to provide the answer. In case your first choice is already booked, its a good idea, where possible, to have an alternative. Please note that most of our accommodation is let Wednesday to Wednesday (most flights from the UK are on Wednesdays). If you wish to travel on a day other than Wednesday, please let us know. We will do our best to meet your requirements.
3. Car Hire or Taxi Transfers?
If you decide to hire a car, choose the type and decide whether you require baby/child seats or a roof rack. Taxis are readily available at an approximate, one way, cost of 12 euros to Caleta de Fuste, 24 euros to Parque Holandes, 37 euros to Corralejo, and 43 euros to El Cotillo.
4. Extras and Special Requirements
While our reservations staff try to be as helpful as possible, we do rely on you to advise us of any extras or special requirements at the time of booking. These might include:
- baby seats, child seats or roof racks for hire cars
- extra beds (available in some types of accommodation), baby cots or high chairs (when available).
5. Telephone Reservations
Our flexible approach means that you can arrange your own flights.
If you are arranging your own flights, we will be pleased to put a hold on your chosen accommodation. This means that you can book your flights confident in the knowledge that the accommodation has been secured for you.
6. Complete the Booking
You are now ready to complete the booking. For your convenience, all of our reservations are taken by telephone. A booking deposit of 20% of the accommodation cost is payable at the time of booking. In all cases, holiday insurance premiums, where applicable, are payable at the time of booking. Please note that it is a booking condition that you are properly and adequately insured. The balance of the holiday cost is due for payment nine weeks prior to departure. You can pay by Switch, Connect, Delta, MasterCard or Barclaycard/Visa. If you prefer to pay by cheque, we will normally reserve the accommodation for five days to allow time for your payment to arrive. Please make cheques payable to "Sunseeker Holidays Limited".
Dont be disappointed Book Early
Because we avoid the large complexes offered by the mass-market operators, at certain times of year we find it difficult to meet demand. If you intend to travel at Christmas, Easter, August or during the half-term holidays - PLEASE BOOK EARLY.
